dashed stroke in Photoshop

i might feel like an idiot after the 1st response to this,

but does anyone know how to dash a stroke in PS? It is a nice and obvious spot in Illustrator, but i can't find in PS.

Want to make a 4pt gray stroke in my design to make it look like a coupon.

Too much of a pain in the ass... do it in illustrator if you can and copy and paste it.

you gotta make a brush by dragging out a rectangle and saving it as a brush. then make a path of where you want the dashed stroke to be. then, with the brush selected, go into the brushes pallette and click on brush tip shape and mess with the spacing until it looks right. then in the paths pallete, with the brush selected, click on the Stroke Path with Brush. this is a rough idea of how to do it, but just mess around a little and you should get it, it's close enough.

select rectangle

edit/fill with 4x4 pixel checkerboard pattern

select/modify/contract by whatever thickness you want the line

delete remaining fill

I have always made a pattern like this:


Then I draw a rectangle and apply stroke. For the stroke Fill Type I choose pattern and select the pattern I have created.
