    Default Photoshop won't work

My computer crashed, and I lost all of my files etc. I reformatted and reinstalled windows XP. Then I put in my photoshop disc, go through the setup, and restart my computer. When I try to open PS, I get a popup saying something about "photoshop is not a Win26 application" or something like that.

Has this ever happened to any of you, anyone know how to fix it?

But it shouldnt have any viruses, since I just reformatted everything. right?

It looks like it is installed, but when I try to open it, bam the popup comes up

I am not a computer guy, but wanted to use PS to scan in and resize some stickers to order from DFP, fuxxx

i would think that yes, a reformat would remove a virus (i guess).

but as a guy that's been fiddling with PCs for a decade or so, I don't recall hearing of "win26" before. "win32" means 32 bit (98 and xp). "win64" means 64 bit (vista and a special version of xp).

maybe it's some legit thing, i've just never heard of it is all.

I was wrong it was win32... I think the disk is just a little scratched up.

My next question is, if I use someone elses setup, but use my Serial #, will it work? Is that legal?
