Default Bringing A Transparent Grayscale Image into Illustrator

    Hey there.
I'm trying to bring my threshold-adapted pencil lines into an Illustrator file to be screened later. I'm a little worried about what looks like areas of gray that show up at certain magnification.

    At 400%, they ain't there.

Am I worrying about nothing? Is there anything I can do to handle this better? Any help would be appreciated in a major way. Thanks.

What if you made your linework into a bmp (transparent background in AI) and then did the color underneath that?

So save it as a bmp in Photoshop, then bring it into illustrator?

I didn't completely understand the question, if thats a case i'd go with preview error too

Thats what i do with all b&W stuff, keeps file sizes way down and you can have the vector colors behind it...I'd save it at like 600 dpi to keep it crisp.
