    Default CS3 preferences

Every time I quit Illustrator and restart it goes back to the default preferences. Any way to make it remember my settings?

Open Illustrator but do not open or create a new file. Change your preferences to what you want. Quit AI and restart it.

Thanks Richie, that worked. I shall refrain from using tan for the entire month of March in your honor.

another odd thing about CS3 PSD is that every time i close it, it ends up crashing and i get the screen where it tells me it unexpectedly quit. anyone know why this is?

yeah there was a bad updater that in some cases never completely installed and causes photoshop to crash on save and some other random instances. There is a download off the adobe site that fixes it right up.

there's also a neat option in window > workspace where you can save different palette locations and settings and call them up
