Mac "Mail" application

Does anyone use this? We use it at work and my email is going bonkers.

Anyone know what this little icon means next to my inbox?

how does everyone else access the mail at your work?

is it imap? pop? exchange?

i don't like it either. i've never used it, until recently to get email on my new fangled phone thingy. and...it's not awesome.

That's the little icon that tells you it's trying to check for new mail. If there's a problem with your mail server, it'll stay up for a long time, or change to a lightning bolt looking thing to tell you it couldn't get your new mail.

I use it all the time... never had any real problems with it.

All i know about it is that it's POP, I don't even know what that means. Post office protocol or something.

Hmm... it's weird because all of us designers here at work are obviously all connected to the same server but my mail is the only one doing weird crap. I'll try to explain what's happening with it, give me sec as it's confusing...

it means its communicating with your server in some manner.

all the other designers use mac mail as well?

try using thunderbird and see what happens? thats my mail app of choice right now.

Mail has deleted some of my old emails in custom folders.
