hello.
my g4 ibook is getting a little slow, (as im sure is normal since its a couple years old now) but lately its STUPIDLY slow.
eg: if i flatten a large file in photoshop i have time to make a cup of tea whilst it does it.

i know i used to defrag my old pc and stuff to sort it out a bit, but what can i do for my mac (besides getting rid of old files and programs), until such time as i buy a new laptop.

i dont know any mac experts so im hoping someone here can offer some advice!

clear out the cache; empty trash; rebuild desktop (if you are able to run classic); delete preferences of the apps that are running really slow.

nah. i hate downloading porn. its a waste of space and time.
i just use redtube and youporn for all my carnal needs.
or i just have sex.

would deleting my application preferences not fuck things up though?
