    Default Illustrator CS2 problem

Every time i go to save something I get a pop up widow that says 'Unexplained error has occured' whether it is a new or existing document. (I'm on a PC)
I uninstalled and re-installed AI and the entire Creative Suite and it is still hapenning.

I know some other troubleshooting techneques on Macs,
but I'm clueless on the PC.
    Any Ideas?

Not my choice. I'm at work. They are the PC people. The IT guys are totally clueless when it comes to Adobe.
Worse case, I'll have to call them for help.

try exporting vs saving (for troubleshooting purposes)

make sure you're not having some sort of weird drive error (like defaulting to an external that is turned off, or a network thing)

make sure it is not font related

    Exports fine. Just wont save.
To save my work I had to Print and choose Adobe PDF from the printers. Thank God that worked, because, I had gone an unsually long time without saving. I usually save every few minutes.

I have that problem a lot at home with cs2. I even get that everytime I open it; when I open it a second time, it doesn't happen.

Ever since we upgraded to cs3 at work, I have yet to see that error. I'm not sure what the deal is though- hope you figure something out.

Try disabling 3rd party plugins. Also, have you tried deleting your preferences (back them up/rename them if you don't want to delete them)?
