I think Comic Sans lies somewhere in the answer.

It does if you don't have Livetrace. I still have Illustrator CS at home and at work

If it jogs anybodies' memory, it was about cleaning up scans of penciling-live trace is way easier than StreamLine ever was but I wanna get my scans as clean as possible, to cut down on the crud that creeps in...

I may have written what I do...I draw the line art in black pen on board. I scan that into photoshop. Then I use levels and make it all black and white. Then I gaussian blur the illustration, so that it blurs the image, losing a lot of the little bumps...then I use levels again..this pulls it in and gives you a clean line. Then I bit map tiff and save...open in Illustrator...makes for a really clean trace...Just watch how much you blur...so that you don't lose a lot of the detail that you would want...I draw kinda big and usually blur at about 3.2 or so...

Awesomeness-I think my big prob was that I was using pencil, just an HB and between that, natural smudging and my lack of motor skills, it was causing me more troubles than I needed...
