put the photo on a layer (double click the default background layer to make the backround a layer), select your path around your image, invert the path, delete.

    VOILA.

Sorry, I keep losing my internet connection.

If I make 4 paths (left side, right side and between both arms) to get rid of white and make it clear. I know I'm still doing something wrong , just not sure what

when you look at your layers palette, is the layer you are working on called "background" or "layer 0"?
if it's "background", double click on that layer in the palette, NOT on the image. then it'll run you through turning it into a layer.

I did that, I'm just getting lost when I have the path then SELECT> INVERSE

It's like I'm getting rid of what I want to keep, If that makes any sense

in this case, do not select the inverse before deleting. or select the inverse again if you're really into digital double negatives.
