    Default InDesign cross-platform (?)

    hey-o -

anyone have any direct experience of opening Mac InDesign files on a PC or vice-a-versa? I realize there'd be some font issues (though some of the OpenType fonts will apparently carry over). Just wondering how big of a pain it might be if i was working with someone on a semi-regular basis.

I guess I'm worried about any styles/effecty things, text re-running, files just plain ol' not opening?

I'm the PC in this equation, running CS2.

i've never had an issue opening across platforms Tom.

the only issue is fonts and version issues, you both have to be on cs2, if he has cs3 he has to save down to your version.

yes it will, done it a bunch.

To save files from InDesign CS3 for use in InDesign CS2, export the file to interchange format.

    1. Choose File > Export.
    2. Give the file a name and location, select InDesign Interchange from the Format menu (Mac OS) or File Type menu (Windows), and then click Save.
