Has anyone used wacom's bamboo tablet? From what I understand it's intended to replace the graphire line. Looking ahead to christmas.
Any opinions/reviews?

I think they are intended for a different market, not for illustration etc
any more on this? i've got a friend interested in one who's trying to learn illustrator. i stand by my Intuos, but her boss needs her to learn illustrator and won't cough up the scrilla and just buy her the right tools. she has to and then has to "prove" herself on it to make it so he'll even reimburse her for half.

I just got a Bamboo for my new setup, and it works just fine. I use an Intuos at work all day and I don't notice any difference when working at home.
I have some crazy off brand (probably made on the other side of china from wacom) that statistically stands about even with the 8x6 bamboo and works great in illustrator. Would still like a wacom so I don't look so poor though.
Haha, the ads are smart, wacom ad at bottom of page for me.
ditto on the wacom ad down below
I'm looking into getting one for home, was curious too.
The stylus on the bamboo is way better than the graphire. If you don't have the money for something better I'd say the bamboo is a sure bet.

Alright! I was planning on getting an Intuos 2, but saw the 8 x 5.5 Bamboo at the UT computer store for $175 and bought it. I was hoping for some function buttons, but whatever. I also bought the entire CS3 Adobe package for $340. Great discount
