CMYK or RGB for InkJets?

What color mode is best for printing to inkjets?
I just had some old fucker argue with me for an hour about this shit.

He says CMYK always, I say RGB sometimes and CMYK sometimes—it depends.

I know we're both idiots, but is either of us "right"?

i always use rgb for inkjets, i used to know why...

Well, Epson uses Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and blacK cartridges, so that's what I'd assume.

i always print digital RGB. I, too, do not know why. I think laser printers have a wider gamut than CMYK? i don't know how/if that applies to inkjet though. Or if i used the word "gamut' correctly.

i'd guess it depends on how many inks your printer has. 8 colors, rgb... 4, cmyk

I have an Epson 1280 and I print RGB alot, colours turn out alot brighter - reds out of CMYK turn kinda murky...
