Default Illustrator tutorials????

Just got Illustrator 10, and now I have to figure out how to use this damn program. I figured out a few things by just messing around with it, but I know there's tons of stuff that would help me out.

So, anyone know of any good Illustrator tutorials?

Basic stuff would be fine and/or more advanced techniques. I did the old Google search and came up with a few, but nothing spectacular. Anyone know a good source for this stuff on-line?

Check out your local library, they should have some books you can check out. That was a big help for me.

I didn't want to register at Adobe, but fuck it... did it anyway. There seems to be some good stuff here. I guess I'll start going through all these tutorials first.

If anyone knows of any sites with good "project" type tutorials that focus on specific techniques, that'd be great too.

It's real nice that over half of the tutorials on the Adobe site are gone now. "service discontinued" ugh...

The way I learned Illustrator was by redrawing logos. I had a shitty job where I had to do that. For the first week, I did nothing but learn illustrator by scanning logos, importing them into Illustrator, locking them, and redrawing them with the pen tool. As with most software, you just need to play around with it, and familiarize yourself with the tools and what they can do. There really isn't a magic-bullet formula that you can learn. It's trial by fire, in my opinion. The books help, but you really get a feel for the software by using it over and over.

I have a "Illustrator 10 Virtual Classroom CD"...
If you want, I could maybe send it to you.
someone gave it to me, and I don't need it.

Because I know everything.

The "Illustrator Bible" was a worthwhile purchase for me. Easy read and I was kickin' it in one night.
