buying new monitors for the dept; CRT or flat?

it used to be that CRT was still the way to go for good color display, but is that still the case? we are a large format printer and color is pretty important in this decision. i have NO experience with any of the newer monitor types.

I use a Lacie electron blue IV at home and it is super for color. However I use an Apple 23" Flatscreen at work and I haven't had a huge problem with color. But I am still glad for my CRT at home for the important color jobs. I know, doesn't help much...

Just got a 17" Samsung LCD...colors work great...lots of available adjustments.

CRT. You will never get 100% acurate color out of a flatscreen. Something to do with the way it calibrates color. At least thats what I was told when they bought new monitors for the color guys where I work. They said you will never get prints and press to match a flatscreen.

CRTs are higher quality and way cheaper - I don't get why flat screen's are so popular - cause they take up less space? Big deal -

my 23" apple display kills any CRT I ever used. CRT's get all fuzzy after time and make my eyes all tired n shit.
