InDesign prepress questions

I've been working around in InDesign for doing layouts for 2-up posters and handbills and I've been having some problems with a few things. I've tried the help files and various other forums, without receiving much info (most of it seems to be prepress via Offset printing rips)

-Is there a way to output a multipage .pdf of just the Spot Colour separations? Not a composite of all the layers together

-I can only seem to print "Separations" from InDesign if I print through my RIP program. If the art doesn't call for halftones, it makes more sense for me to just output via the Epson 76000 driver, but the "separation" menu is greyed out. Is there some logical work around that people use?

with an acrobat PPD installed (library -> printers -> PPD plugins), everything works like a charme.
when choosing "adobe pdf" from the printer pull down menue in your printing dialogue box,
you'll be able to choose "separation" in the output section.

I can print the file as a POSTSCRIPT (.ps) file, then open it in Acrobat and get the pdf of the Spot Colours. Is there a more streamlined way to do this?

I guess that's fairly streamlined and easy.
