Flatbed printers

Does anybody in here work with flatbed printers.
At work we do alot of printing on adhesive back material that we print on and then stick on to coroplast sheets.
My co-worker/supervisor wants to see if the cost of getting one of these will help us on the production end.
The buyer we buy from is saying that they print alot slower and that there's alot more set-up involved.
The flatbed will print directly on to the sheets of coroplast and take out the cost of having to buy the adhesive back material we are now buying. Of cousre I can't help but think he's saying this cause, 1.we don't buy the coroplast from him. 2.We buy alot of adhesive back material from him.

Just trying to get some info on these and the cost involved

Overall, it's obvious that your main concerns are production efficiency and the costs involved (material, equipment). Most likely, whatever your supplier told you is a half-truth because while he has to be honest, he also doesn't want to lose your business. Not familiar with flatbed printers, but you should be looking for important information such as the ease of the printing process as well as the cumulative costs of switching to it.
