Yeah, they also ditched the ability to assign linescreen and angle in PS for CS5. There's also an issue with channels not outputting from DCS files...
For several years I was part of Adobe's beta testing and "opinion" surveys. Each year they'd send out a huge survey to industry people using the software and pay you to fill it out.
They started asking questions about how we would feel if all their software went to subscription format only, how we'd react to half-updates and whether we would "strongly disagree" with the ability for them to deactivate software after it reached an "end-of-life" cycle. Basically, they wanted to be able to turn off old copies and force upgrades to a subscription. It didn't pan out but they now have subscriptions at least.
CS 5.0 for video folks added some nice features, mainly access to huge amounts of RAM but I have had more problems with CS5 than any release of any software I can ever recall.
