    Default Illustrator clipping mask question

If you have 3 objects you want to clip out of a photo how is that done
    in illustrator?

Example: I want to clip out the stars ou of a photo, so they have no back ground

Select the object and make them a compound path (apple-, make sure they are in front of what you want to clip, then select the stars and your photo and make a clipping mask (apple-7).

Make the 3 star paths, select them, ctrl + click "make compound path", make sure object to be clipped is on the bottom, select it and the newly created compound path, and ctrl + click "make clipping mask".

Use a clipping mask on the layer. There are a few ways to get there.

    Snoop around on the Googles.
