    hey,
i looked through the older posts but couldn't find much on the two programs i use the most, Gimp and Inkscape. I learned a long time ago how to use even pre-Adobe programs, so the features on these programs seem kind of intuitive. Not so much when it comes to tweaking the filters on Gimp or even navigating the vector-based system, but i've figured out how to make them do what i need so far.
I like these programs cuz they're free, so you know lots more people will have access to them. And since i use screenprinting mostly in a community setting, making screenprinting easy for people to do is my primary concern. Are there other people using these programs on here? Maybe we could exchange tips. I've had lots of time this winter to geek out on these programs, so i'm feeling pretty excited about using them to make the nicest prints possible. Thanks

I have used and continue to use both Inkscape and G.I.M.P. I find both applications lack features of their commercial competitors. In my opinion neither application is reliable for production purposes. Only tip i have for you is... if you're using Inkscape or G.I.M.P is save often.

Photoshop has crashed on me tons of times, annihilating hours of work. Save often, when using any program (that doesn't auto-save). Isn't Photoshop free?
