    Default Large format inhouse printer

Hey guys. I do some work for a theatre in Cleveland and we are looking to upgrade our large format printer for printing posters and such.

We currently have a 24" HP500ps that is 6 or so years old and haven't had many problems with is...but it unfortunately has to leave.

I'm not sure if anyone has any thoughts or experience buying something like this. We would most likely like something 24" again.

    Thanks!

I always want to feel this way! —Sean Higgins

I agree. Epson is a work horse. If you spring for the 8900 you can print all your stuff 2-up and print bigger stuff

We have a Cannon iPF 8000s at work. It prints great and is a workhorse. We have two and print alot on them everyday. I would look at the cost of the cartrigdes Espon vs Cannon. I know there both very good printers. We have just got all ours numbers together of what we spent this past year and the ink cost have almost doubled the cost of media. I am now looking into color profiles and what I can do to save on ink by doing some testing on differents media's to get less the ink down. Alot of people don't tell you this and I'm just satrting to reaseach this.

I'm looking into getting one for my shop too. I've always heard that the large format HP printers were the best value for the money. I'd be interested to hear if any of you have had problems with them in the past.

I've only heard horror stories about HPs. I'm sure there are people who use them but I was strongly recommended not to get an HP large format.

I have been running our Canon IPF 8000 12 color printer for the last 2 1/2 years with no problems. It works great and I love the speed of it.
