hey - anyone have any suggestions for making a smaller sized pdf out of indesign? i did a catalog recently and they'd like to have a version available on their website, and the smallest i can get this sucker is like 60 megs. which is big and dumb.
its mostly illustrator vector art and clipped psds placed into indesign. i've read on some boards people making everything except the text one big jpeg, but it seems like that would involve turning off the text and exporting each page, importing each page in photoshop, saving entire thing as jpeg, re-importing back into indesign, lining up with existing text layers. huge hassle.
i've tried downsampling all the linked images, but its the vector art i think that's blowing this sucker up. is there a raster all artwork setting? should i be making a postscript file and opening in distiller? i am not knowledgeable in the ways of indesign.
any tips to shrink the filesize would be appreciated.
thanks
-tyler
