    Default volume problems

Anybody have any idea what would make the volume of some computer speakers be very low. They are working and the volume is all the way up on the master volume and on the windows player I'm listening from.

Possible that whatever amplifier is in your system is shot.

My TV amp died after a year. Now I have to run it through the stereo.

make sure your audio control panel doesn't have individual settings for "Wav volume," "CD Volume," etc... if it does, make sure they're all up. some video players and programs will set the wav volume when you're using them and then not turn it back up when you're done, so when you have the volume really low while you're watching por- um... the Little Mermaid, then you quickly turn off your computer because your roommate is home early, your computer volume stays low.

The speakers where an old set that came with an Emachine. there the kind that the wires would come together into a single plug. No power supply that plug into an outlet. I guess I need to get speakers that have there own power supply.

I tried using the speakers that came with my old HP with my Dell, and the output was very weak so I wound up having to use a small guitar amp for a year or so and then I got a really good deal on the sub woofer and speaker set from Dell, which of course are powered.
