Banner scale

I've been doing a lot of 11 x 17 flyers for a club in town and they end up getting getting a lot of them printed pretty big, though i'm not sure what actual size they are. now he wants me to put together one today that would will be printed at 4 feet x 6 feet, so what is the scale in photoshop that I should work at to achieve that size?

Math is hard. I would just open a new file and adjust it by percent.

And, strangely enuff...most banners don't have to be done at a decent resolution...they just have to 'read' from a distance. High dpi is not required.

when i used to work on billboards, we just set up 1" = 1'.

the last banner i did, i think i set it up at 1/2 size (at 300dpi) in photoshop and it looks killer (even close-up).

I will make something at 100% scale at 200 or 300 res. while designing then when it's done I save it as a jpeg at 150 at 100% scale. It prints fine and makes the file alot smaller.
