I'm not one to wax nostalgic about Cobain, but this may be the definitive version of "In The Pines," topping Woody Guthrie, Leadbelly, Roscoe Holcombe, Dock Boggs, Doc Watson, Bill Monroe, Dylan, and whoever else.
There may have been a truer sounding one played in some dark holler somewhere, but it was heard by the player alone and is lost to time. We'll have to be content with this.

Ultra Mega's cover of ODB's "Shimmy Shimmy Ya". I've grown to like this.
