Kylesa "Static Tensions"

I've been listening to Kylesa's new album "Static Tensions" quite a bit the last few days. This album is good. I hear so many things in it, aside from the riffage and wash of Kylesa. I hear Fugazi, and Sonic Youth. I hear Melvins. I hear something I'm not sure of like Nile or something. Good songs. Good lyrics from what I can tell. I give it an A.

I was hoping to see them on this tour with Mastodon, but probably won't get down to Lawrence on a Monday night. Ah well.

It's SUPER fucking good. I caught them at SXSW and they were just crushing, especially with the double-drummer setup. I really don't know how Mastodon is going to sound following them, especially when they are playing Crack The Skye front to back for this tour.

Unknown Awareness is probably my favorite off this one. Amazing album.

Oh, and I'd like to add one influence that Ben left off that I really pick up on. Early Pink Floyd.
