Default Attack In Black - Welland, CA......

WOW. I've been printing posters for Daniel for a long time. Just recently he joined the art team here at pedal printing. And I've been pretty impressed by the stuff Attack and Black has been releasing the last few years. "Marriage" was my top pick for 2007. But i decided to head to Welland, CA (their home town) the other night to see them live for the first time in over 3 years. My mind was blown, the performance left me babbling for words. The set had sharp contrast. From calm and serene to blazing and hooky. Daniel tweaked through guitar solos running himself into the ground/walls reminding me of early Nirvana footage. One of the best live performances I have seen in the last few years. Its safe to say the intensity was up being their home town, but I'd say AIB will impress even on a bad night. Songs off every album(including the widows ep), and a lot of new material slated for the next Dine Alone LP. Plus a bonus of 4 in a row Ramones covers! I really suggest checking out this band if you have not, I know they are getting pretty big in Canada and I'm sure they will break into the states soon.

Daniel is also doing two other projects also worth listening to. One is basically AIB all playing different instruments backing a man named "Shotgun Jimmie" who fronts the project. Reminds me a bit of Built to Spill...

and a more defunct solo 2 piece project called "empire air" that put out 1 7":
