It's A reason, not THE reason. You just said you have all of Gristle's albums! In the right mood, atonal free noise can be GREAT. In the wrong mood, it sounds like self-indulgent kindergarten garbage.
    Super-absorbant, for those messy spills:

After 64 you gotta start getting into the Soul Jazz - that's where is was at. Check out artists like: Jimmy Smith, John Patton, Richard "Groove" Holmes, Jimmy McGriff, Charles Earland, Lou Donaldson...

I don't pretend to now jack crap about jazz. I buy jazz records that are less than 5 bucks in the used bin. So usually I am taking a chance. Like everybody else I know a few names blah blah. Whatever makes your lamp light burn nah mean?

    A few favorites of mine....

A shameless cat-scratched Billy Holiday live record.
    Zoot Sims.
Miles Davis Birth of the Cool.
A Jazz Compilation album titled 'Sounds of New Orleans' its all marches and cocktails.
    Blue Train.
    Monk, everything.
And anything with vibes. Gotta love the vibes.
