Were nearly signed to Island Records.
James Iha wanted to produce debut album.
Island Records said no & the band split.

The above two bands pretty much defined punk for me in my early teen years.
I never really liked Velvet Elvis, they were kinda like a million other REM-lite type bands playing around the same time...Crosshair pushing here until its limit the bringing together.

Blackfry Late 80's supertalented but leader was an ego maniac and burned alot of bridges along the way.
Plague Mosaic Mid 90's, Great band that had to many drug problems
Spaklejet Great live band that will knock your soxs off. There still at it

The Spicy Rizzaks - early 00s NYC.
Great Live band. One time the promoter kept pushing their set back later and later than ends their set after 15 mins at the end of the night. As if by magic, singer John Bon Rizzak whips out a watermelon and raises it in the air and BAM all over the club. Amazing

Check out Verbena. The drugs broke them up. Check out one of their best CDs on itunes it is called Souls for Sale.
