Default Any Royal Trux fans?

I've had Cats and Dogs since it came out and go back to it fairly regularly, but I don't have any of their other releases.

Anyone here like them?

What of their output is worth getting and what should be avoided?

Thanks.......

If being a fan means, they are possibly the worst band I have ever seen, then yes, I am a Royal Trux fan.

There are some good moments of a few of their records, but nothing to write home about.
Even if heroin rock is your thing, there is much better heroin rock out there.

If noise is your thing, their debut Twin Infinitives is pretty relentless.
That's all I can think of, off the top of my head.

As for quality junkie rock- obviously the Stones' Exile On Main Street is the standard by which all junkie rock must be judged.

Johnny Thunders nodding-off acoustic album 'Hurt Me' is pretty powerful in its way; the whimpers of a lost soul.

In The Red put out a live Pussy Galore album a while back that smokes. It's the only record of theirs to feature the all-male lineup, far and away the best PG roster. Sorry ladies. Sweet cover by Chantry, too.

The VU were more of a speed band than a heroin band.

i have a copy of cats and dogs on vinyl that i can't bring myself to sell. i like it..... enough. i saw them live a few months ago and i remember being really impressed at the time. mostly with the guitarist, NOT the lead singer. sorry, i don't have any recommendations for albums to buy.

They have a new side-project called RTX. Get that, it's pretty rad!

I thought you were talking about Royal trucks - the skateboarding company, in which I am not a fan. Are they still around?!

The second self-titled album, the one with "Junkie Nurse".
And Singles, Live, Unreleased, if you can find it, has their great early 7" stuff. If enjoy everything on both discs, you are a FAN.
