Loo...when the day comes that a metal band successfully unleashes Satan or Cthulhu or hell even 'awakens' a single Forest Troll I will say it means something.
Otherwise, while I enjoy the fantasy Metal is no different than say Reggae or Diva Pop. it's entertainment.
