80's music sucks?
are u peeps insane?
in the 80's hardcore, indie rock and scum rock were born! black flag, butthole surfers, redd kross, sonic youth, the birthday party, the germs, the swans, live skull, ut, fetous, minor threat, misson of burma, neubaten, the cramps, s.o.a, halo of flies, pussy galore, gb, jesus and mary chain, 8 eye spy, husker du, the meatmen, rites of spring the list goes on and on. punk finally solidified in the 80's, spawning many exciting DIY subgenres

Duran Duran/Hair bands all that shit FUCKING SUCKED Flock of Seagulls---Boy Beorge---etc. poop o delic. Guns and Crap....Whitefake....all that SHITE.

in the 80s, the jam wrote their best material (soon to be followed by the style council, who ... well, at least they were politically active).
also there was X, one of my all time favs. and yeah, add to c's list: the avengers, the bags, agent orange, dk, etc.

i may sound stupid, but i think the all time heaviest and best rock bands of all time cme from the 1980's. led zep? nah! big black, butthole surfers, scratch acid, pussy galore, live skull, u-men, husker du, sonic youth, psychic tv, meat puppets, etc. etc.
changed my life... edit - ps - kevin, the avengers and some of those others you mentioned were 70's bands.
