BATHORY Mastermind QUORTHON Dead At 39 - June 8, 2004
BATHORY mastermind Tomas "Quorthon" Forsberg was found dead in his apartment in Stockholm, Sweden on Monday, June 7, informed sources have told BLABBERMOUTH.NET. The 39-year-old son of Black Mark Records owner Börje Forsberg, widely considered to be one of black metal's founding fathers, died of an apparent heart failure.

Bathory was always just Quorthon. A one man project. I heard he was working on a new record. Those first few Bathory records were so gnarly.

He is in Valhalla. Dude was hardcore Viking. He kind of started the Viking Metal stuff after the Black Metal stuff. Definetly a pioneer in the metal world. Originally Posted by robschwager
