I saw these guys twice but missed them with High on Fire. Has to be one of the most intense things I've ever seen on a stage and they are a wall of metal. I'm dying to do some art for these guys.

I brought them into town last month with High on Fire. I wholeheartedly agree with you. Awesome guys too. Although HoF are no slouches either.

I saw Mastodon at Metalfest last year and they blew my mind. They played the Relapse stage and they were smack in the middle of about a 3 hour block of the best Relapse bands. They blew everyone away except Pig Destroyer. I don't think anyone can compete with Pig Destroyer.
Mastodon has ex members of Today is the Day so that should be an indication of the brutality.

Brutal yes but I was more impressed with how musical they were. I mean alot of times cats are screaming and beating the hell out of an e-chord but these guys had some parts that really moved. Hear some southern rock floating around in parts. They're from atlanta aren't they?
Anyone like the Queens Of The Stoneage record? This is truly a great record.

I agree. They really are talented. Half of them are from NY and the other guys are from Atlanta. They all live in Atlanta now I think.

Between Alabama Thunderpussy, mastodon, and High on fire, relapse is defintely my favorite lable right now. I wanna check out burnt by the sun. I heard some tracks and it sounded really cool.

I just listened to Burt by the Sun earlier. Those guys are amazing. Highly recomended.
Relapse is my favorite label. I like just about every band they put out.

Some of it goes a little too death for me but anyone they have that has any kind of groove I like. It's the AC/DC I was raised on. It's inbedded in my subconscience.

ill be doing a poster for the show my band is playing with mastodon... we have a 7" coming out on relapse soon, hopefully by the show... the poster should be done in the next week...
