wow mike that was like reading an indian menu heheh..well...the definition of metal would go further back than even blue cheer..if u ask me blue cheer were a band who wanted to sound like jimi hendrix, i dont really rate them that highly to be honest..but "anything loud and distorted" in mainstream usage, can mean the who..cream...hendrix of course..all of those bands were around before blue cheer, and IMO, kick more ass than blue cheer....anyway, im not trying to argue against what u think of course, but if blue cheer can be credited with spearheading metal with loud distortion, what about THE OO?! they invented feedback! and they had keith moon on drums! but okay...theyre not metal, but without them there wouldnt be bands like blue cheer and mc5 and so on
