lately i've really been listening to the guitar work in slayer's music and the closer i listen the more excited i get
today while listening to reign in blood i was dwelling aloud to yannink on how inventive kerry king is and how FRESH all the riffs sound even 20 years latter
and he said " i know slayer are like a heavy metal arab on radar"

and then i realised that not only are they the best metal band ever but they are also one of the best avant garde/art rock acts ever.
i also realised i have the best boyfriend on earth.
i'm serious
they sotally have this artsy almost anoying trebbly goodness going on but it doesn't take away from the heavy at all and thee is ZERO chesse
quite an amazing feat.

Slayer own my ass. They are every genre incarnate...metal, rock, pop, avant garde, soul. Definitely one of the most important bands of our time. Like all the best bands, I think they just sit down and try and write kick ass music, and it just comes out as whatever the listener wants to take it as. Which in the case of Slayer, is pure, great, no, fucking amazing, music.

recently i submit my top 20 band list for this elitist music snob group .
i got rejected and a few of the members made fun of me for having slayer on my list.

they thought it was ironic.
not a very good group of music snobs in my book if they can't reconize one of the best bands ever.
