Default Aussie locals!!

There are some phenomenal bands scaling their way up or just comfortably kicking butt in Aus at the moment...

"If you want to be reborn, set free, or just want your head to explode, see these blokes live. They fuckin rock!" is how one youtube user described The Australian Kingswood Factory and that's pretty much spot on.
I've never seen a rock'n'roll act get this dirty and explosive before, though so many claim to. After one of their shows a few weeks back it took a good half hour for any one present that night to wipe the dumbstruck grins of awe, disbelief and pure electric energy away... that was somethin' else.
They've got an EP due to be released within the next 3 months, and a national tour booked with Canadians KC & the Moonshine Band and Rehab For Rejects in March 2010.
Definitely ones to be looking out for and highly recommended you get down to one of their gigs, they're booked solid 'til the end of march next year so there's ample opportunity.

this doesn't really do 'em enough justice but who can be bothered filming when things really hot up??

Also a few other hot picks from around the place:
If you want rockin' blues dynamite complete with foot stomping, harmonicas and washboards ,The Snowdroppers got what you need.

These fellas are finally starting to get heard by a wider audience. Fusing elements of rockabilly, psychobilly and jazz The Vaudevillains are a truly remarkable talent, worthy of great recognition.

In an ideal world Firebird would require no introduction to anyone in Aus. They're arguably THE finest trio of musicians in the biz, as a whole and individually with its members having played in bands such as Nekromantix, the Brian Setzer Orchestra, Hilbilly Hellcats and The Nervous Wreckers.

Also a few more up-and-coming psychobilly acts worth checking out...

Manic Pistoleros (old school western psychobilly... think Krewmen and the Quakes)

My absolute favourite punk rock band going 'round at the moment! The Jacks, the recordings on the myspace are stellar so take a listen if you're partial to the likes of Street Dogs, Social Distortion, Turbo AC's, etc. etc. Amazing stuff!!
