    Default $55 comissioned design...

Sorry to start a new thread but we are urgently seeking an artist who can recreate the style of illustration as seen below for a last-minute poster design...

PLEASE do not bother to respond if this type of artwork or illustration is far removed from your 'usual' creative style. I do not want someone who can adapt their style, rather an artist who can confidently reproduce a similar design with a different group for referance. The artwork above is what we're looking for as inspiration... Realism without creative embellishment or interpretation and NOT exaggerated caricatures or anything else!

We can only afford to pay $30 upfront and $25 upon completion but the design requires very little beyond the illustration as described and some text. Please respond via email ASAP if interested as we need this done by the end of next week (~19th) at the latest!

$55 was a rip off for this much work in the 70's, 80's, and 90's. Maybe you'll get lucky since we're in economic endodays.

$55... what's that in Euros... wait... I can just afford a whoopee-cushion and a slice of watermelon for that.

    Good luck, too little money.

Better go busk a couple of days and then return.

you should realize that an illustration like that would take probably 20 hours or more....

    that's $2.75 an hour.

get real. anyone who takes that offer is selling their entire profession short.

    good luck.

Listen, I just spent a slice of our already tight budget with an artist on a design that did not work out. Perhaps if you bother to send an email you would understand exactly what is required. I'm just looking for someone to do simple head caricatures and that's basically the extent of it... Due to irregular circumstances, this is what it is. Take it or respectfully leave it.

    Thanks.

EDIT: The price is not fixed in stone, you can see our budget's stretched thin. Please email for details; work is really not as detailed or complicated as some seem to make of it.

The $ you are offering for the work you are asking to be done is unrealistic even for Montreal.

That you spent money on another design that did not work out before is also not a good reason to ask a new artist to do some work for cheap.

    Good luck with your takeover.

Will your band play a show for say, $5 American?

All it will entail is just setting up, playing and then packing equipment and leaving. That's it.

For the love of god!!! I hope no one from this site takes this. If someone does... We're all doomed.

Try craigslist dude...... I do give you points for being up front with your offer. shitty as it may be.

on top of all that, you say you already hired someone who didn't work out. That combined with the wording of your first post tells me is that you are a very difficult client to please, and can almost garuantee you would not be happy with any first draft from anyone. I've worked with enough people like you to read between the lines. Either up your pay or lower your standards.
