Default Have you done skate art? Do you like skulls?

    Hey everybody!

I'm trying to put together I Want Your Skull #7 at the moment.

    OPTION #1

I’m looking for submissions related to skateboarding only. The artwork could be a painted skate deck, illustration, painting… any artwork featuring skateboarding AND skulls as the key elements.

Along with the artwork, you will need to write a short paragraph about your connection to skateboarding. Maybe particular artists that influenced you or how skateboarding changed the way you viewed the world, something along those lines.

You must also provide a photograph of yourself. An old school pic of you wearing a pair of Powell Peralta Animal Chin sweatpants, doing an acid drop off a ledge or a boneless off a jump ramp while holding on to your Tony Hawk board complete with tail guard, nose guard, lappers and copers would be ideal. But, a current day pic of you skating or sitting in your office drawing or whatever would work cool too!

    DEADLINE IS OCTOBER 31, 2008

    1) Artwork size must be 7″ x 7″. 300dpi. Grayscale.
    2) You can send in .pdf, .psd, .jpg or .eps formats.
    3) Include in your email:
-the artwork attached (if too large, please use a .zip file only)
    -your name and mailing address
-your website information and the name you would like credit as
    -your short paragraph
-your personal picture for print (as large a file as you can muster)
    4) Please name your file something including your name. It gets kind hard tracking down things when you 400 .pdf files named “skull”.
    5) Each contributor will receive (1) copy sent on my dime, and additional copies will be available to all artists at wholesale.
    6) Send it all to: eyewantyourskull@gmail.com

    OPTION #2

I know a lot of people have been doing artwork on skateboards who aren't directly involved or have a long history with skateboarding. Since our main focus is SKULLS and not skateboards, I'd really like to give some other folks a chance to get in this next issue as well. So, here's the deal...

    1) Artwork size must be 2.3″ wide x 7″ high. 300dpi. Grayscale. Preferably a vertical image of a skateboard deck you designed, painted or illustrated in some way. Can be custom or a production model if you have permission to reproduce the image.
    2) You can send in .pdf, .psd, .jpg or .eps formats.
    3) Include in your email:
-the artwork attached (if too large, please use a .zip file only)
    -your name and mailing address
-your website information and the name you would like credit as
    4) Please name your file something including your name. It gets kind hard tracking down things when you 400 .pdf files named “skull”.
    5) A skull (human, animal, alien or other) must be the central theme of the artwork.
    6) Send it to: eyewantyourskull@gmail.com

Unfortunately, I'm not gonna be able to afford to send out free copies for all those folks who choose option #2. It's just going to end up being too many artists with 3 submissions per page. However, you will be given full credit in the mag, with clearly visible website and name credits. And if you wanted to order a few copies, we can work out a discounted price for those peeps.

Hopefully, we'll have this one printed and available for the holiday season!

    Thanks everybody.

Man, I did a series of enamel drawings on skateboard decks. I'd be all over this, but my artwork doesn't have any skull imagery in it. I still skate, too.

Im down for the non-skateboarding mag. I was always too busy watching ninja turtles to get on a skateboard.

I made three skateboards in school and I screen printed one of them as a test to see how it would come out. It has a skull on it but sadly it's not my artwork, I got it from a book about the underground comics of the 70's.
It came out great by the way, lots of nice textures.

I don't know if I can find an old picture of me with my board. But I know I did sport those powell pants that had the extra patches sewn into the knees. Those things were bulky and hot as hell in the summer time.

I had those lame Animal Chin sweatpants. Wish I could find a picture of me wearing them too. I'm pretty sure I have some equally embarrassing pics around here somewhere...

Anyone up for this? Doesn't need to be new work. It can be something you've done in the past.

I'm in. I am working on a skateboard related piece for a group show right now. I'll see if I can somehow get a good enough scan or pic to put in the issue. otherwise I'll have to do something else.

I'd be down Ryan, I just don't think I have any old pics of myself with a deck. I think I have a school pic of me with a mullet, braces and a powell bones shirt on.

The portrait pic can be whatever... It can be something current- you in your studio or something like that. I just thought it would be funny to have a bunch of embarrassing pictures of people when they were 13 years old.
