    Default Screen Printer needed

Hello, I am a painter who does concert posters, I don't know how to screen print and I was just offered to do a Ben Kweller screen printed poster. I don't know of the details yet. I would like to have a poster printed with probley 5-7 colors in an edition of about 200. I don't have a lot of money. Who would like to do this? Please reply to this thread saying where you live, how much money you would like to do print these posters for me, and your past work that you have screen printed. You can see my past posters if you click on designers and then find Jen Kaplan. I would also like some of those printed in the future. This gig will go to who ever names the the lowest price or lives in the Cleveland area, I would be willing to pay a little bit more if the artist lives in Cleveland because that is where I live and I would like to learn how to screen print. Thank you so much for your time.

    Jen Kaplan

    200, 5-7 colors won't be cheap.

200 is the max I would like to have printed. I know I will probley go down in the amount that will be printed. I just would like to find an artist who will do this for not a lot of money and then the two of us can work out the details.

200 5-7 colors is quite an undertaking for never having anything screened before.
    good luck.

and really, as the market goes, you should expect to pay about $900-1000 at least for that.

I would have to see the artwork first

It's hard to give a quote when someone doesn't know how important it is to know the basics of screen printing and how it applies to artwork.

If it's just simple spot color with black or a darker color trapping I'lI work on a quote. Do you know the size yet and what color paper?

    BTW: I'm in Fresno, California

Never mind then, I would like to do editions of 100. I am in love with color and I don't want to have a limited amount of color because of money. I want to be known for my color like Wayne Coyne and Andy Warhol.

You don't have to use alot of color to make something look good.

I just found out about this gig about 10 minutes ago so I haven't had time to think about design yet. I would like white paper and I normally work with 9 inch by 12 inch canvas so either that size paper or something that will scale that size. I am easy going when it comes to size. I can buy canvas in any size so I will let the screen printer come up with the size since size affects price. I do know the basics of screen printing so I know how it applies to artwork. I was showed how to one day in art club but I never screen printed anything because I never thought I would have a use for that skill.
