have you ever tried hitting up skateboard companies ??? i think your work would translate really well to deck art. the pay isn't great ( about 400-500 per deck ) but there is a fast turnaround on decks so a pretty steady need for new art.

actually a french skateboard company approached me for illustration, but they paid nothing (about 5 decks for a design, ha ha ha), but no I never tried to send my stuff to other companies, that's a good advice, and I didn't think about that, thanks a lot !

Do you ever send out postcards to companies? Like I've had some really good luck lately as a result of it....like it kind of snowballs....you send a postcard to someone, they give you a job, that job is seen by someone else, etc., etc...

What I used to do is go to the bookstore look at magazines and newspapers - local and national - and look through the mastheads of each one - that's where they have all the names of the people who make the publication - and find the names of art directors and the mailing address.
Then you find a really cool illustration of your's and make a postcard with your name tel # and email address. Something funny and good that will go on the art directors bulletin board at her desk. When they are trying to think of the next illo their eyes fall on your funny tanxxx postcard and voila. A job.
