Funny how people don't even consider offering a grocery store $20 and "a little promotion" in return for a week's worth of groceries....BECAUSE THE GROCERY STORE'S NOT STUPID ENOUGH TO ACTUALLY DO IT.

You're right, however, if you only have $20 you can either choose to go to the upper class grocery store and hope to buy something to eat or you can go to a cheaper place and buy several meals. There is a place in the world for both kinds of establishments.

Not to mention there are Co-Op grocery stores who would actually do just that. You help them out by putting up flyers for their store and they pay you in food. Sometimes the world is bigger then you think it is.
