Need to hire someone to do some Poster Designs for my Wedding

OK. I am new here so take it easy on me because I am not sure that this is the right forum for all of this (but I did the Premium Upgrade to kind of show I am serious about this). I was referred here by a response in this AskMetafilter thread I posted, if that matters.

Here is the deal. I am getting married in Dallas in October. We are into music a lot and go to tons of shows so we wanted our wedding invitations to look like full size gig posters. Our idea was to create multiple posters to send out to the different people and to have giant ones blown up to display on the walls or whatever. Now, I have no idea how much something like this costs and I don't have a huge budget for this but I would like at least 6 different designs from one or more artists.

We go to a lot of Wilco shows and generally like the styles they use but we are open to anything that looks cool and can have our wedding information on them.

Also, and this may be the wrong place for this completely, but, like I said, we are getting married in a huge space we have to decorate and are looking for Dallas artists who may want to display there art for sale during our wedding and reception. Again, I don't know the politics of that kind of thing.

In addition, we are looking for someone to design a CD Sleeve/Booklet for our wedding favor mix-cd.

Anyway, I guess thats all I got for now.

Hey holdkris.

If you're looking for someone to design/screenprint posters, you'll probably want to stick to one design. Multiple designs/print runs could get pretty expensive.

My advice: Look around on this site. Find posters you like. (I know there's thousands of posters on here...so maybe start by searching by your favorite bands, etc...) Pick your favorite artist or studio then contact them directly asking if they can do the job for you and get a quote. Every artist has a different payscale, so be prepared for that.

Another option would be to ask for interested parties to contact you directly, and you may or may no want to post your ballpark budget for the work. (Or you can ask the interested parties that contact you with ballpark quotes).

I know a good bunch of us poster folks have done wedding gigs before.

OK, I have been reading some of the other forum posts and you guys (and gals) can be merciless on folks!! Anyway, I can spend $800-$1000. Anyone can reply to me directly if they want and I will do what Unitus suggested and look around and maybe contact some of you folks myself.
