maybe there should be a classified for spammers (new members) looking for work like this???
Your love is a lie, Mike.
Gird your loins.

Well, here's the thing. There's a category in the forums called "Art for Hire" that says , "Need someone to design posters for you? Are you an artist that is looking for work? Get the job done right in here."
So maybe it seems spammy, but to someone who isn't on here 24/7 and doesn't know all the unwritten rules of GP conduct, it sure looks like clear sanction to post exactly this sort of thing.
If its a problem, then maybe the forum guidelines should be altered. But in the meantime...people should chill the F out instead of dogpiling on everyone who posts this sort of thing in its designated place.
All that aside...if Mr. Shea would be so good as to draw his favorite cheese, and go premium, I'm sure everyone will be very welcoming.
yeesh sorry, i didn't realize i was breaking any rules. what exactly is the problem? i'm not trying to be snarky, thought this was just an open forum for freelance work. are you not allowed to do this unless you're a premium member?
love,
mike shea

you didnt break any rules. what you're catching flack for is some people thinking that its improper to just use the forum to look for work without giving back (going premium, which goes to Clay who runs the site). basically, unwritten rules of politeness.
sweet illustrations!
oh okay thanks, Bahr. i figured i'd check out the site for a couple days and then invest in the premium deal after running some reconnaissance. definitely didn't mean to step on any toes.
thanks, derekdeal!
