Looking for New Clients - Gig/Event/Tour Posters

My name is Jonathon Kimbrell, owner of Napkin Art Studios & Telephone Print Co. in Dallas, TX. I'm new to the gig poster scene and really want to be a part of this growing industry. I'm currently looking for new clients to create single event or tour series posters for bands and other events. All of my work is printed by hand within a fast turn around time. My prices are market competitive and high quality is guaranteed. All designs are executed from concept to finished product solely by me, completely in-house.

I'd like to know how does one go about contacting prospective clients, especially to create posters for mainstream or up and coming bands? Where does one go to bid for such jobs?

not bad, and props for going Premium.
there are a lot of threads on this subject here, but the short answer is to start making posters for friends' bands or clubs.
make sure you put your name and website on the posters, so they are an advertisement for you as well.
as you say, this field has been rapidly growing and is pretty oversaturated. A lot of us are leaning toward the Art Print market these days.
I like your work, but you might want to be careful about using other peoples' photographs so much.

Most of my 'real' money is made in the fine art galleries. The poster gig is just for fun.

Which is one of the reasons it's difficult to get paid to do this and it's not a "growing" industry.
