Monster Magnet is looking for posters for a few shows they have in mid august.
August 9, Milkweg, Amsterdam (with Karma To Burn)
August 10, Garage, Saarbrucken (with Karma To Burn)
August 17, KD Vltavska, Prague
August 18, Batschkapp, Frankfurt

20% of the run to the band and 5 posters to the venue (up to 200 posters). You would handle the printing and shipping and keep the bulk of the run for resale after the event.

Why is it that no bands have any money anymore for merch they intend to sell? I'd love to do a MM poster, but this is bullshit. Shipping alone will be $100 or more. Add in the cost of materials, hours spent designing, and days spent printing and you begin to see the ridiculousness of these offers.

I've done these deals, and I'm sure with the right band I'd consider doing it again. On the one hand, there's no harm in asking... On the other hand, it's kind of insulting when a band that has money doesn't even offer it to an artist that's struggling to keep his/her electricity turned on. I have local bands scrounge up cash to pay for art. I give em a sweet deal if they can throw in like $20 per band member. If they can do that, why can't larger bands show artists a little more respect? I mean fuck, we do this shit primarily because we're fans. I'm a fan of Monster Magnet & would love to do some work for them, but that doesn't mean I'm willing to bend over. Leave that shit to the groupies.

but, holy cow, i had to ship posters to germany once and it was ass-raping expensive. i didn't foot the bill, but i felt sorry for the dude that did. i can't understand how anyone could make any money with that deal. you'd have to charge, like, $50 a poster or something.
