Im currently a sophomore that has recently changed his major this year from computer science to graphic arts management (I have a minor in business administration as well). Although, graphic arts is a large field, I am wanting to get into design and prepress. I'd really like to design anything but what i'm mostly interested in, is designing is album artwork, posters, logos, shirts, etc. None of my professors have talked to us about creating a portfolio, but I was wondering what kinds of stuff have artists such as yourselves included in your portfolio (pics, links, etc. would be greatly appreciated)? I'd also love to hear any kind of tips, opinions and anything in between on how to get started, where to go from college (types of internships you've had, what types of jobs you can get with this, etc.) and good websites that have taught you designing and other websites you currently use to help you with your work. I guess what I'm saying is Id like get pushed in the right direction so i can work hard and accomplish something great with this field, I'm just not really sure where to go with all of this. Ive already taken two semesters of courses (lntro to design, litho, screen printing, computer apps, flexo and photography) with this major and i absolutely love every minute of it
