    Default Comic Book Artist needed

    A friend of mine is looking to hire a comic artist asap.

    I would describe the project as dramatic sci-fi. Please see the samples he's provided to me below. He doesn't necessarily want an exact imitation of these styles, but he does want a similar esthetic (nothing cartoony).

    His preference would be to get someone in Toronto or Chicago who uses a Mac - but these are not 100% requirements.

    Sorry, I don't know what the project budget is, but I can tell you that he has worked with artists before, and he's not going to be unreasonable when it comes to compensation.

    try craigslist? I bet there are a number of peeps that peruse the art/design areas or try the comicon website Welcome to Comic-Con International: Coming up Next...WonderCon 2010 in San Francisco! or MOCA MOCA | The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles or wait a bit for the comic-con to get around to your area and you can go meet a ton of comic book hopefuls......

    We're worried that if we post on craigslist we'll get a million cranks - but I'll suggest he try that. You did give me a great idea though - TCAF (Toronto Comic Arts Festival) is in May, but they posted an Exhibitor List on their site already - so I just forwarded that list to him now!

    Actually I did get a few more responses from bumping this thread too - please keep em coming! Especially Toronto or Chicago artists!
