Because they didnt think anybody would ask them to clarify their position. They figured it'd be a bunch of other people on their "side".

That said, I agree with Man12. If you asked a bunch of protesting liberals the same pressing questions about their dumb signs they would have that same dumb look on their face.

It's just the type of person who protests shit that tend to be particularly stupid. The loudest dumb asses always know the least about what they are yelling about. it's a particular type of animal. left or right.
