Default Gallery of Amazing Quilts

I know quilting isn't exactly the medium of choice for this crowd, but I also know the people on this site appreciate a gifted artist when they see one, regardless of the artist's medium. In that spirit, take a look at the work of Caryl Bryer Fallert. She is phenomenal.

She even explains her process for some of them:

My mom quilts. Her stuff is more traditional looking though.

I don't really like those quilts in that link.

yeah, i was all excited to send it to my wife to show how much i care about the things she does...then i looked at the link: kind of looked like something to keep a hippy warm when the heat gets shut off.

but, i can appreciate the skill it took to do them, just not into it.

The hippie aesthetic leaves me cold, but I'm really impressed with the skill that goes into her work.

Just last week, me and Fisher were at Jumbos having a heated discussion about quilting.

I somehow found myself at a quilt show in Ohio once, and there was lots of shitty traditional stuff I didn't like. And there was lots of insane bright gaudy stuff, too. But the skill involved, especially in person, was pretty nutso. In a "I can't believe they put this much work into THIS" sense. So much of it was purely technical skill, though. The 'artistic' aspect of the work should've been taken out back and shot in the head.
