I have sold so much old electronics (but still nice) for great prices - always have like 20 people respond to my posts - meet them weird places - sell for cash - they never even turn the stuff on to check it out - weird

Deck 2 on the 'Barbie Karaoke Machine' you sold me last we is non-op. What's your refund policy?

I had a friend selling a $300 couch on craig's list. The guy who bought it called and said his secretary had accidentally cut the check for $3000. If she could please deposit the check then she could keep an extra $200 if she gave the movers a check for $2500. Hello money laundering.
More like he writes you a bad check and gets your 2500.
Maybe you just seem like an honest person? I bought an old guitar amp off craigslist without trying it out. It was a good deal, and the guy told me about the problems it had, so I wasn't too concerned. I met him at a Wawa parking lot, and when he opened his trunk for the amp, he also had a baseball bat in there... only a little sketchy.
Maybe he played baseball?
yeah thats the classic scam, the check will turn out to be no good. Some of the most bold ones I've seen ( not always Craigslist related) are people selling "junk" cars that don't even belong to them, people renting out vacant apartments, when they have no connection to the property...
Here in Chicago on the news in the past few days, there was a scam going at a prominent cemetery, in which some of the employees were digging up graves, tossing the bodies in a remote area of the grounds and reselling the plots. So far, they've found over 300 bodies that were "displaced." I don't know if they were reselling the plots on Craigslist, tho.![]()
